Unleash Your Creativity

Perhaps you want to surprise, to bring freshness, to show so far unseen perspectives, to be a sparring partner, a conversation partner. Or maybe you aspire to be a thought leader, a rebel, an example, an inspirator, a game changer, a metaphor, a style, a movement, a community embodying a whole new philosophy, love, peace, excitement, absurd, controversy, wisdom. Or all of the above at once?

Stirring mental waters until new islands of awakening start emerging is not for those prepared to explore familiar landscapes. Ultimately, you are not here to follow old rules. You are here to craft a whole new game.

A new game begins with learning to look at things from a fresh perspective and asking new questions. To put it shortly, it all begins with allowing your creativity to find you. Courting it, inviting it to join you on your journey of artistic transformation and self-discovery. Always keep in mind that t
he most powerful you are when you create for yourself first, without wondering who will approve of your work or benefit from your insights.

So here is a selection of questions designed to help you awake the creative rebel in you. Contemplate them. Ask them out aloud. Write them down in your journal. Then listen and follow the lead.
  1. Where would I start if I'd have to achieve the impossible with nothing?
  2. What does my library of secret dreams and desires contain?
  3. How could I share my learning process or quantum-leap transformation with others?
  4. Or, if I'd be my only audience ever, how far would I go? How bold would I be in my self-expression?
  5. If I feel blocked, what is the cost of continuing to live in this way?
  6. What if I'd just show up on the page/in the studio/on the canvas and use it rest creatively? No strings attached. No commitments made. I just am and I just do.
  7. In what way could I combine existing or already mastered skills/subjects/objects/styles in order to synthesize something fresh?
  8. Am I playing too safely when I am creating and expressing myself?
  9. What new risks could I take in order to expand my creative comfort zone?
  10. What can I do to regain my curiosity, if I feel very little interests me nowadays?
  11. Do I still believe in just 'playing' as a child?
  12. Can I come up with a new thought? Something I've not thought of (for a long time)?
  13. What stupid unwritten rules am I still complying with instead of starting my own game?
  14. What is my own definition of original art? Write it down. Share it. Embody it.
  15. This page will continue to be updated regularly, as I keep looking for empowering questions to boost your creative insight. Feel free to mail me your suggestions or leave them as comments in the section below. Anyone is welcome to contribute.

Life - Transforming Questions

If the quality of our life depends on the decisions we make. And the quality of our decisions is largely determined by the quality of the questions we ask, what are the questions that could lead us to the greatest breakthrough in life? Here is a (never complete) collection of questions I believe can assist you in moving forward and transforming your life. You don't have to try and answer all of them. Instead, feel free to browse through the list and contemplate the questions that resonate with you at this moment. The questions might be used also as journal prompters and in practising meditation. What do you stand for? What person do you wish to become? If thoughts shape reality, what would you like to think about that would help you move forward? If you'd have to do the impossible with nothing, where would you start? Who are you without the doing? Who are you when you just are? If you could re-imagine and transform their life just by visualizing and thinking, wha

Creativity, Uncertainty and Possibility

When you're new to something, Rick Rubin enlightened us, you bring an ignorance that can be highly innovative. The usefulness of experts is indisputable but when you need a breakthrough freshness of insight is a priority. Indeed, so much of what we know somehow stands in the way of developing new perspectives. In a sense, we're at all times hostages to our mental models. And only by becoming familiar with them and aware of them can we learn how to see things from a new angle.  Sometimes we may need to impose constraints on our projects in order to channel our creative energy. At other times, we may be asked to do exactly the opposite: drop the limitations, un-scope and acknowledge the importance of exploring something totally new, even if we don't know where this would lead us to. Unchartered territories obviously don't come with maps. They do, however, come with the promise of allowing us to be the first to map them while navigating them based on our inner compass.  Ne

Creativity, Clarity and Opportunity

The passion to create art brings with itself an unimaginable power of healing and beauty. Creativity can be seen as a wonderful prayer as it connects us directly to a higher consciousness. Tapping in its resources requires faith in our ability to be actively patient and confidence in the path that is revealing itself in sometimes mysterious ways. Great art comes from truth and doesn't need validation.  To create is essential if we wish to bring clarity to the realm of possibility. Possibilities are fuzzy, attractive, indefinite and alluring paths we can take. When we choose, we eliminate the noise imposed by less relevant (yet attractive) concepts and focus on what we feel is of value. Ideas come to life when acted upon, not simply recorded and safely placed in a drawer. Sharing them might feel vulnerable but at the same time, it brings us down to the arena of other creators. To be judged or criticized is to be seen, not just looked at. Once our ideas catch on fire, there’s an im
